Fleet Buyer Program Manager

Fleet Program Manager, Non-Commercial US:

  • Owns Non-Commercial Fleet Policy, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations & related controls
  • Maintains relationship with Fleet Management Company to ensure performance, focusing on continuous improvement, to maximize value for Messer
  • Develops KPIs to measure and monitor compliance with policy and processes
  • Liaises with Human Resources, Insurance/Risk, Tax, Legal, HSEQ and other corporate departments on fleet policy and related issues
  • Trains new drivers and manages rollout of program changes for existing drivers
  • Manages ordering cycle and all fleet related projects
  • Promotes digitalization of fleet process & reporting
  • Serves as managing editor of Fleet SharePoint site



  • Builds relationships to understand & support internal stakeholders’ business strategies
  • Executes all procurement activities related to Fleet, Small Parcel, Rental Car and other commodities including:
    • Align sourcing strategy
    • Requests for proposals
    • Negotiating agreements
    • Ensuring compliance with Messer Procurement policies & procedures
  • Identifies & manages initiatives to deliver savings for financial targets
  • Maintains supplier relationships to maximize value for Messer
  • Ensures code of conduct in all dealings with suppliers

Required Skills:

  • Organization & prioritization, with ability to multi-task and follow up as required
  • Strong analytical skills – used to define program strategic direction
  • Advanced Excel
  • Presentation & training
  • Interpersonal & communication – ability to communicate and work effectively with all areas and levels of the organization
  • Negotiation Skills
  • Project Management – Able to establish priorities and deliver results when promised
  • Procurement – Knowledge of strategic sourcing methodologies and/or category management processes


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree is required - In Business preferred
  • At least 5 years of experience in fleet management, procurement, or related field
