This position will be responsible for various types of Software agreements, maintenance and related services across the enterprise. This position will also engage on more complex strategic agreements as needed in the IT category and may be assigned other special projects. Independently lead cross functional teams to strategically select software/IT products and suppliers ensuring the best possible price, quality, service, and overall terms. Pursues opportunities to reduce costs, minimize risk and improve business conditions. Partners with internal stakeholders to identify and define their requirements. Drafts, negotiates and manages complex contracts. Provides on-going supplier relationship management. Acts as a trusted resource for solving business issues.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience
Analyze various software cost models/options and provide recommendations to stakeholders.
Develop advanced software sourcing strategies and category plans that span across the business.
Lead the negotiation and contract management of large-scale, enterprise-wide volume purchase software agreements without guidance.
Demonstrate project management expertise with the ability to carry projects from strategic planning through implementation.
Demonstrate subject matter expertise for Software including perpetual, term and subscription agreements, Maintenance and Services, and other IT products.
Proactively strategize with business and technical owners to understand the needs of the organization.
Lead cross functional teams to develop meaningful requirements to ensure quality responses from suppliers.
Research and develop adequate sources of supply. Utilize supply market knowledge to leverage best strategy for Charter. Lead cross functional supplier selection activities through management of formal RFP, RFQ and RFI processes.
Evaluate the financial stability of potential suppliers.
Perform required business analysis with a strategic focus on total cost of ownership.
Provide fact-based recommendations to executive level management for constructing the best overall strategic buy decisions.
Continuously seek out cost savings opportunities and lead efforts to realize the savings.
Manage overall supplier performance using Strategic Relationship Management tool set - including, acting as an escalation point in the event of non-performance.
Independently develop a strategic category plan based on an understanding of business goals and objectives, the supply market and benchmarking. Effectively documents, communicates and gains buy-in across the organization to ensure alignment.
Strong internal stakeholder management skills - capacity to listen, build trusting relationships in all levels of the organization, understand and capture stakeholder's needs and deliver effective solutions
Manage and influence all phases of change management.
Manage stakeholder groups through technology adoption.
Work beyond the traditional procurement metrics to achieve operational and technical improvements to the business process.
Perform other duties as requested.
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
In-depth knowledge and understanding of software contract terms and conditions
Advanced knowledge of all types of software and related services including perpetual, term and subscription agreements, maintenance and support, and other IT products
Strong understanding of different types of software and services
Expertise of information technology and software terminology
Strong negotiating skills with the ability to adapt and improvise
Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and writing skills
Strong Project management, collaboration and influencing skills
Comprehensive understanding of the P2P process.
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels in the organization
Ability to think strategically and anticipate future trends, needs and expectations
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience
Related Work Experience
6+ years of procurement contract negotiation and contract management experience
1-3 years of electronic procurement and or contract solutions experience
2 years of direct industry or company experience

The pay for this position has a minimum of $90600. The actual salary offer may be higher as we carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as commissions or bonuses.
